Glass's Birch Creek property in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, transferring a 56.4-acre parcel designated as Plot No. 1 to a buyer named E.W. Bennett. There is also a fairly detailed plat of 266 acres retained by Glass. Local surveyor Joshua Hightower plotted the boundaries following a Post-Civil War land transaction in Southside Virginia, where large agricultural tracts were frequently partitioned during Reconstruction. Accompanying documents concern land purchases by E.W. Bennett.One of the survey plats centers on the 56.4-acre lot traversed by a meandering stream branch. Physical markers denote each boundary vertex, including a red oak, a white oak, an embedded rock, and wooden stakes, alongside bearings measured in poles and links.
