All aspects of coffee are covered, with a worldwide analysis of where it is produced, including the East Indies, notably Java. Starting around 1830, Java became an important exporter of coffee to Europe, which ended when the coffee groves were devastated by leaf rust in the early 1880s, a decade after this book was published.
