Superb book published for an exhibition on contemporary French photographer Julie Ganzin, whose work deals primarily with the topography of leisure in summertime - rural lakes and ponds, pools…and beaches, Alpine vistas, isolated swimming holes. The images are both cerebral and sensual, in the way that Jeff Wall's work is, and with him it shares a painterly aspect and a predilection for horizontal tableaus. Beautifully printed with 30 full-page plates. Excellent work by an underrecognized photographer. Scarce and most highly recommended.
