Es handelt sich um das 1898 eingeführte "Chemische Verbandsexamen", das der Einführung eines Staatsexamens im Fach Chemie zuvorgekommen sollte, die einige deutsche Universitätsprofessoren als Beschränkung ihrer akademischen Freiheit ablehnten. --- Ausgestellt und original signiert vom jüdischen Chemiker Julius von Braun (1875-1939) an der Landwirtschaftlichen Hochschule Berlin für den Chemie- und Physik-Studenten Jon Seemann (1900-1989). --- Julius von Braun prüfte Jon Seemann am 30. August 1920 in Unorganischer und Analytischer Chemie und am 10. Januar 1921 in Organischer Chemie. --- 4-seitiger Vordruck (31,7 x 21,2 cm), davon die ersten beiden Seiten von Julius von Braun eigenhändig handschriftlich ausgefüllt und am Ende signiert. --- Außer bei den Daten der Prüfungen nicht eigens datiert. --- Auf sehr kräftigem Papier. --- Jon Seemann wechselte im Sommersemester 1921 zusammen mit Julius von Braun an die Universität Frankfurt am Main, der dort sein Doktorvater wurde (Dissertation 1922: "I. Richard Seemann, 1869-1943, und der Ida, geb. Brandt, gest. 1989 in Hannover)studierte an der Technischen Hochschule Berlin, ab dem SS 1919 an der Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Berlin, wo er bis zum WS 1920/21 blieb. Danach wechselte Seemann an die Universität in Frankfurt am Main, wo er 1922 seinen Doktor der Naturwissenschaften machte (Arbeit: "I. Synthese des Beta-Nitronaphtalins aus Tetralin. II. Untersuchungen über Ringfestigkeitsverhältnisse cyklischer Basen"). 1920/21 legte er unter unter seinem Doktorvater Julius von Braun (1875-1939), mit dem zusammen er nach Frankfurt gewechselt war, Prüfungen des "Verbands der Vorstände Chemischer Laboratorien an deutschen Hochschulen" ab. 1923 zog er dann nach Berlin. Er erhielt zahlreiche Patente auf Erfindungen: 1930 erhielt er zusammen mit dem Industriechemiker Friedrich Boedecker (1883-1977) das US-Patent 1937682 (Method of Producing Hydrogen). 1939 erfand er mit Eberhard Forche ein Verfahren zu "Herstellung eines Zementsatzes aus Calciumsulfatrückständen der Flussäurefabrikation", 1943 zusammen mit Karl Mau ein Verfahren zur "Anreicherung des Natriumgehaltes in Kryolithen und 1959 zur "Herstellung hochkonzentrierter Wasserstoffperoxydlösungen durch fraktionierte Kondensation von Wasserstoffperoxyddämpfen", jeweils für die J.D. Riedel - E. de Haen AG in Berlin-Britz, für die er 1954 als Vorstandsmitglied nachweisbar ist. 1937 ist er in Hannover nachweisbar (1943 als Fabrikdirektor), wo er 1989 starb. --- Zustand: Zeugnis mittig gefaltet; Papier gebräunt, fleckig und etwas knittrig.
