The book is the culmination of the experiences gained while training 5000+ teachers under the Ministry of Education, Government of India s, Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching (PMMMNMTT) Faculty Development Centre in Cyber Security & Data Sciences, Shivaji University, Kolhapur. At the outset, the authors are therefore grateful to this unique educational and skill-building project, as it has national repercussions on safety and security. Prof. R. K. Kamat, the Principal Investigator and all the authors are proud to be associated with this noble objective. As the world becomes more interconnected, countries spend increasing amounts of money on cyber security. A lot of cyber-attacks have taken place recently, and it is estimated that they may cause up to US$ 2 Trillion in damage per year by 2021. For example, in May 2017, a ransomware attack called Wanna Cry affected over 300,000 computers in over 150 countries by encrypting users hard drives. This caused multiple industries to be disrupted, including banks, schools, hospitals and government agencies. Another example is the 2016 hack of the Democratic National Committee s e-mails which resulted in many controversies during the United States elections. Last year also saw Malaysia Airlines having many of its Twitter accounts hacked. The hacker group, Lizard Squad , claimed responsibility for these hacks and targeted other airlines such as Air Asia. These cyber-attacks have a considerable effect on the economy, and so there is a growing interest in cyber security. In particular, the manufacturing industry has a greater vulnerability to cyber threats as many industrial facilities are interconnected. Cyber-attacks can be especially harmful when they cause physical damage in factories, for example, when hackers take over the controls of a robotic arm or other machinery.

Most of the articles are on structure culture process and dialectics in post independent India. Contours and dynamics of Indian society in relation to caste class and power hierarchies have been discussed with a view to ascertain relative role played by the structural and cultural factors. The contributors have ably demonstrated the nexus between theoretical formulations and empirical realities. The differential bearing of theory on facts and vice versa would encourage and inspire students researchers and teachers for new pastures in the domain of knowledge. Since this volume is a festschrift in honour of eminent sociologist Prof. K.L. Sharma all articles related to his interest have been incorporated in it. Several eminent scholars his colleagues and students have contributed to the volume. The editors have taken sincere pains to make the volume a composite one for the benefit of all the interested and concerned scholars. 434 pp.

From time unknown Indian medicinal plants have been used to cure and prevent ailments. The pharmacological values of many of these plants have been confirmed by scientific findings. Medicinal and Aromatic plants are rich sources of secondary metabolites like alkaloids glycosides steroids flavoinoids saponins etc which are potential sources of modern herbal drugs. It is possible that the efficiency of herbs depend on the total cumulative effect of the plant contents rather than on the one or few chemical fractions separated from the herbs. The authentic information regarding use of medicinal plants active ingredients pharmacological properties and dosage etc are not available at one place. An efforts thus has been made by us to compile the systematic and proven information in the form of a book. This book in particular caters to the need of all those who are trying to decide whether to use herbs as a form of treatment or an adjunctive treatment or as health promoter or simply as a prophylactic measure for disease prevention and immunity building. 218 pp.
