This insightful book examines the evolution of the medical understanding of perityphlitis and its treatment, focusing on the period from 1897 to 1905, when surgical principles rapidly advanced. The author presents 1,522 cases of perityphlitis treated during that time, providing a rich dataset for analysis. The book highlights the author's clinical observations and the resulting development of early surgical intervention, known as the Frühoperation, for acute perityphlitis. This approach, which aimed to remove the inflamed appendix before the onset of complications such as peritonitis, significantly improved patient outcomes. The work contributes to the understanding of the causes, pathology, and clinical presentation of perityphlitis, offering valuable insights for medical professionals and those interested in the history of surgical practice. Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the history of the practice of direct tissue necrosis, from its early analysis to contemporary understandings in the scientific community. The author provides a detailed examination of how direct necrosis impacts the healing process of wounds, whether it induces inflammatory reactions, and the extent to which living cells function within necrotic tissue and influence the healing process. Through a series of experiments, the author explores variations in tissue necrosis induced by mechanical, chemical, and thermal means, demonstrating the body's response to these different forms of tissue damage. This book is a valuable resource for medical practitioners seeking to expand their knowledge of wound healing and tissue necrosis. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
