Biography and retrospective of Kansas artist Lester Raymer (1907-1991), the painter, printmaker, metalworker, and toymaker at the center of the Lindsborg art colony and his own Red Barn Studio. Six essays by Bruce R. Kahler, Diane Thomas Lincoln, Lan Nelson, Carla Scott, and Don Weddle survey his life, his place in the Lindsborg community around Birger Sandzen, his religious and spiritual imagery, his work across media, and the handmade Christmas toys he created for his wife Ramona each year from 1960 onward.
