In 1883 the German explorer and naturalist, Prince Maximilian of Wied, together with Karl Bodmer, his Swiss-born artist companion, traveled some 5000 miles along the Missouri River during their year-long sojourn with the Plains Indians--this is their narrative with many illustrations. Dust jacket has dampstaining as well. Inside of dust jacket has quite a lot of discoloration due to moisture. Dust jacket has several tears closed with tape and has a missing one inch piece at top of spine panel. Another one and a half inch missing piece at back cover of dust jacket. Dust jacket now protected in Mylar. Ships same or next business day.
