A beautiful chromolithograph promotional trade card issued by the Burdett Organ Co., who had originally produced high-quality musical instruments in Chicago as R. Burdett & Co., from the Civil War until their factory was destroyed in the 1871 Great Chicago Fire, and subsequently moved to Erie, PA. William Craig (b. 1838?) founded the firm in 1867, partnered with James Finley (1846-1932), and operated on Arch St. until an 1877 fire damaging their lithographic stones, and they relocated, continuing in business until 1950.
