Condizione: Sehr Gut. Zustandsbeschreibung: Mängelexemplar. How many single people live in Europe, and are they happy? Recent research on singlehood shifts from the previous concentration of negative life outcomes of single status towards a concentration on positive outcomes. Further, most studies concerning singlehood have been performed in North American countries. Therefore, exploring factors related to single people?s happiness and the specificity of singlehood in other than North American countries is becoming increasingly important. The authors utilize the data collected in the European Social Survey (ESS) in the period of 16 years (2002-2018) to determine the shares of never-married single adults in Europe and explore various factors associated with the happiness of single adults across 33 European countries. This monograph shows the review of definitions of singlehood, the rates of single individuals in each of the 33 European countries and across nine ESS rounds, and the socio-demographic profile of singles. It also presents the results of the analyses concerning the subjective well-being and general health of single people, basic human values, and religion. 116 Seiten mit 9 Abb. und 48 Tabellen, gebunden (V&R unipress 2023). Statt EUR 45,00. Gewicht: 299 g - Gebunden/Gebundene Ausgabe.

Condizione: Sehr Gut. Zustandsbeschreibung: Mängelexemplarstempel auf Schnitt, Kanten leicht bestoßen/defect copy stamp on cut, edges slightly bumped. What We Already Know and What We Need to Know about Contemporary Singlehood. The rising number of single adults in many countries enhances the need to integrate the previous findings on singlehood and the recent theoretical propositions of viewing adult singlehood. The present monograph is a unique theoretical elaboration on singlehood from a psychological perspective. It provides a review of the past research mainly investigating the reasons and outcomes of singlehood in connection with attempts to answer the question, 'How close are we on that way to the psychology of singlehood?', and indicate the potential ways of integrating various findings concerning singlehood. The current book is therefore intended to be an essential step on the way to build a theoretical model for singlehood from a psychological perspective in the nearest future. 128 Seiten mit 10 Abb. und vier Tabellen, gebunden (V&R unipress 2023). Statt EUR 49,00. Gewicht: 311 g - Gebunden/Gebundene Ausgabe.
