Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Near Fine. 1st Edition. Not a book but a 10-inch, 33-1/3 rpm, vinyl LP record, Capitol H-211, near-mint vinyl in a near-mint cardboard jacket. Song stylist Kay Starr's first LP features "Steady Daddy" and "You've Got to See Mama Ev'ry Night (Or You Can't See Mama At All…)." Starr, a child prodigy of Iroquois descent (she was born on the reservation in Dougherty, Oklahoma), had her first real hit when she convinced Roy Acuff to write her some lyrics to the fiddle tune "Bonaparte's Retreat." As her background was in Western Swing, and as even Elvis Presley praised her jazz-oriented style in early interviews, she would have seemed a natural to move into rock 'n roll, but probably she'd come along just a decade too soon. (On July 5, 1954, the day rock 'n roll was born, clean-cut Kay Star was 32.) After this promising opening entry, Capitol offered her only "pop" material which had already been rejected by their top artists including Peggy Lee and Ella Mae Morse, and Kay Starr ended up touring with Pat Boone. Catalogs $70; here reduced from $37.

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware - One ordinary summer morning, Kay Starr was caring for her young daughter when something impossible happened. Her left arm turned blue. That single moment became the beginning of a life-altering journey through medical trauma, chronic illness, fear, misdiagnosis, and the exhausting battle t…o be heard. But this is not only a story about suffering. It is a story about faith when answers never came. Strength when her body failed her. Motherhood in the middle of uncertainty. And the quiet courage it takes to keep going when no one else understands the weight you carry. With honesty, grace, and hard-won wisdom, Kay shares the reality of invisible illness while offering hope to anyone who has ever felt dismissed, overlooked, broken down, or forced to fight alone. The Day My Arm Turned Blue is a powerful memoir of resilience, healing, and turning pain into purpose.
