Omslag met wat scheurtjes, rugje versleten en verbruind. Een prachtig en kwetsbaar prentenboek van de begaafde karikaturist Jan Feith (pseudoniem: Chris Kras), gericht tegen de Engelsen tijdens de Boerenoorlog. De rijmpjes van Van Ponten werden door de kunstenaar uitgeschreven. Op de voorkant overhandigt Paul Kruger een lepel pillen aan de Britse minister van Koloniën, Joseph Chamberlain, terwijl achterop een man op een ezel met een monocle staat afgebeeld, die sterk doet denken aan Winston Churchill.
