Larger format (quarto) HC/DJ. 1st edition. Snugly bound and very neat in original pictorial dust jacket. Bound in glazed pictorial paper covered boards with matching pictoria…l design to the jacket printed on thin paper stock - a notriously fragile dust jacket. Just superficial shelf rubbing to boards at corner tips and mild shelf tap top front corners. Small area of toning to binding material at crown where small chips from the jacket exposed the binding. Jacket is moderately toned to spine and adjacent areas of the sides as well as the front edge. Jacket is rubbed and worn with short closed tears and shallow chips at edges. Content bright and fresh, illustrated throughout with b&w drawings by Edward Kemble. Lovely copy in the very infrquently seen original dust jacket. Book is VG++ to NF in VG- jacket.
