Aggiungi al carrelloBuch. Condizione: Neu.

Prima edizione Copia autografata
Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. 1st Edition. Quarto (32 x 24 cm), decorated silk cover, 62pp. with 3 pochoirs by István Csók. Number 64 from the edition of 300, signed by the author. Simon Kemeny (1882-1945) was poet, journalist and dramatist. Born Simon Kohn, he converted to Catholicism. However, his poetry, at once impressionist and laced with eroticism, jolted a conservative press and readership. He was murdered by fascist forces in early 1945. Poems of an erotic and fantastical nature, with Csók's illustrations depicting corybantic orgies and surrealist images, in a toast to decadent revelry. Illustrator Istvan Csok (1865-1961) was a lifelong impressionist painter who exhibited internationally and received the Kossuth Prize for his work. He spent years in Nagybanya and passed along that lineage in his teaching but his support for left-wing students led to his forced retirement in 1931 from the School of Fine Arts. Csok is recognized internationally as an important 20th-century figure. This work scarce, with one institutional holding found in worldcat, at Boston PL. Scans available on request. Signed by Author(s).
