He or she has to decide whether to take the newest launched model or either the traditional one, with or without an insurance package, delivery or even buy from the internet. Naturally the consumer is reluctant to buy expensive products, when the run oncheap ones are omnipresent in today's market. Companies try to undercut one another and conduct themselves in would-be price battles. But all this is owed to the fact that on the one side the consumers have decreasing real earnings, which lead to a higher price sensibility, and on the other side the companies look atsaturated markets. These markets and their exhausted possibilities to differentiate the products cause a mass competition with the active implementation of pricing as a part of the marketing mix and as a competition instrument. This trend can not only be identified in the business to consumer (B2C) market, but it can also be found inthe business to business (B2B) market. In addition an increasing consolidation processes in large parts of the industry and retailing business is recognizable by applying purchasing agents to trade cheaper prices by using their power of demand. Classical examples are the two big discounters like ALDI and LIDL, when it is obvious that they pass over these good conditions to their consumers and usethis advantage in competition for their own business. Furthermore the internet with an increasing number of price comparison websites also contributes to this fight for the right price by offering price and product comparisons which hamper the strategies for a better price differentiation. A company's survival and growth in suchchallenging and competitive environment depends among other things on the effectiveness of its applied pricing policy.

Danach gehe ich auf die gängigen Modelle der Hochbegabung ein und reflektiere diese hinsichtlich ihrer Vor- und Nachteile. Dabei werde ich zu jedem Modell ausführen, ob in diesem Underachiever überhaupt erfasst werden oder nicht und ob dadurch das Modell noch zur Darstellung von Hochbegabung geeignet ist. Im nächsten großen Abschnitt gehe ich dann auf die Identifikation von Hochbegabten ein. Zunächst soll dabei die Notwendigkeit der Hochbegabungsdiagnostik dargestellt und speziell die Bedürfnisse der Underachiever berücksichtigt werden. Eingangs stelle ich hier auch die verschiedenen diagnostischen Probleme dar, z.B. die Fehlertypen oder die Festlegung auf ein bestimmtes Entscheidungsmodell. Auch die Bedeutung dieser Entscheidungen und Fehler für die Identifikation von hochbegabten Underachievern wird zu Ende dieses Abschnittes herausgearbeitet. Danach geht es um konkrete Verfahren der Hochbegabungsdiagnostik. Zunächst wird hier in subjektive und objektive Verfahren unterschieden. Im Bereich der subjektiven Verfahren beschäftige ich mich mit der Identifikation von Hochbegabten durch Zensuren, Lehrkräfte, Eltern, Peers und die Schüler selbst. Dabei wird zu jedem dieser Bereiche diskutiert, ob man damit hochbegabte Underachiever identifizieren kann. Die objektiven Verfahren unterteilen sich in dieser Arbeit in Intelligenztests, Kreativitätstest und Wettbewerbe. Auch diese drei Verfahren werden wieder hinsichtlich ihrer Qualität zur Erfassung Minderleistender betrachtet. Um den theoretischen Ausführungen der diversen Verfahren einen praktischen Bezug zu verleihen, sind am Ende noch zwei Studien zur Hochbegabung und deren Ergebnisse hinsichtlich der Zweckmäßigkeit der verschiedenen Verfahren dargestellt. Dabei soll anhand der Praxis die Tauglichkeit der verschiedenen Methoden und Quellen zur Identifikation Hochbegabter noch einmal herausgestellt werden. Zum Schluss werde ich in der Zusammenfassung und in einem Ausblick die Ergebnisse dieser Diplomarbeit festhalten und den Versuch unternehmen, eine Kernaussage aus den Ergebnissen zu formulieren. Zur weiterführenden Beschäftigung mit diesem Thema soll dann noch ein Ausblick auf mögliche Vertiefungen und weitergehende Überlegungen gegeben werden.
