Wilson (1886-1970), a native of Scotland, rose to the "first rank among modern United States book illustrators" (obituary), providing art work for more than 70 books, mostly classic fiction, many of those sea stories. Bookplate on front pastedown, else very good. Original cloth-backed boards, illustrated dust jacket (some minor edgewear). (9559).
