Originally published by Doubleday in 1973, this edition was republished by Texas Christian University Press in 1984 as… Number Two in the Chisholm Trail Series. With an afterword by Tom Pilkington. This copy is exceptionally well preserved. The book is in As New condition, with a clean, bright interior, tight binding, and virtually no signs of handling. The original illustrated dust jacket is likewise in As New condition, bright and crisp with no significant wear, tears, or loss. A particularly handsome copy. The novel follows Charlie Flagg, an aging West Texas rancher struggling to survive the drought and changing realities of the 1950s.
