As time passed and the stories continued, she would more frequently say, "I wish you'd put that story on paper." Betsy kept after me, and I eventually started writing. The stories seemed to be well accepted, so I put them into a bound 200 page manuscript and gave them to family members and a few friends as Christmas gifts. This eventually led to my first published book, Russia: A Personal Odyssey. Friends and family members continued to encourage me and it led to this book, Oleralf's Musings, a compilation of stories that I've written over the past couple of years, mostly about my own experiences of "stuff that just happens."
