Das Konzept und die Philosophie des Absurden wurde jedoch im Westen von Philosophen wie Camus und Sartre geprägt und beeinflusste im post-unabhängigen Indien alle wichtigen Schriftsteller, die auf Englisch oder in regionalen Sprachen schreiben. In dieser kleinen Untersuchung wurde der Versuch unternommen, eine vergleichende Studie über zwei große Dramatiker, nämlich Harold Pinter und Vijay Tendulkar, mit besonderem Bezug auf ihre Stücke The Homecoming bzw. The Vultures durchzuführen. Da beide Texte einen ausgeprägten Einfluss des Absurden aufweisen, habe ich versucht, die Bereiche der Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede in ihren Stücken zu untersuchen. Die Studie soll aufzeigen, wie sich zwei verschiedene kulturelle Texte ähneln und wie sie sich aufgrund unterschiedlicher sozioökonomischer Bedingungen unterscheiden.
