Afterward, under the auspices of the Missionary Society of Connecticut he ministered in Cincinnati, Missouri, Arkansas, and New Orleans. He was a prolific writer of fiction and non-fiction, and published numerous translations and articles; and, in 1831 edited THE PERSONAL NARRATIVE OF JAMES O. PATTIE OF KENTUCKY, a landmark piece of Americana. Coleman 501. Relates extensively to Kentucky.
