Soft cover. Condizione: Fine. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. 1 pages. Published in 1997. Rare Calvin Klein collectible item. An actual copy of the now-iconic Calvin Klein Men's Underwear Print Advertisement. Precedes and should not be confused with digital copies of the original ad. Printed on thick coated stock paper in the United States to the highest standards. This is the cleanest and most beautiful realization of the ad we have ever seen because of the magazine's high-quality paper. Without DJ, as issued. There is no ISBN. The Print Advertisement is now rare. Presents "Calvin Klein Men's Underwear Print Ad: Joel West". The sexily suggestive image of the American supermodel, one of the very first male supermodels who emerged in the 1990's, is a more brazen variation of the ground-breaking Calvin Klein advertising campaign that was launched with Tom Hintnaus to great fanfare and controversy (1984) : Like Hintnaus before him, Joel West is shown wearing nothing but CK briefs. His pose is what's different: He stares directly and invitingly at the viewer, his legs spread wide open, as if asking, "Well, what are you waiting for?". The Tom Hintnaus ad shows the latter's eyes closed, even seemingly asleep while sunbathing. Almost all of the subsequent CK ads do show the model staring at the viewer, but not in the way West - who sought a career as an actor - does. The CK advertising campaign "had a seismic effect on America's social and cultural scene. His advertising campaigns have come to stand for the acceptance of this imagery by the cultural mainstream. For those who can recall a time before it became acceptable for men to regard their underwear as fashion statements, Calvin Klein's images must count among the most revolutionary tools yet devised in the history of consumer manipulation. Miniature dramas in which men assume the passive role once assigned almost exclusively to women, they have also been a force for change in relations between the sexes" (The New York Times Magazine). An absolute "must-have" collectible, not just memorabilia, item for Calvin Klein collectors. This Print Advertisement is a contemporary ertoic photography classic. As far as we know, this is the only copy of the actual advertisement still available online and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright. Please note: Should NOT be confused with digital copies available online, which have proliferated, and have no collectible value. Printed on thick coated stock paper in the United States to the highest standards. This is the cleanest and most beautiful realization of the ad we have ever seen because of the magazine's high-quality paper. A rare copy thus. One of the greatest image-makers of the 20th century. A fine copy. (SEE ALSO OTHER CALVIN KLEIN AND BRUCE WEBER TITLES IN OUR CATALOG). no.

Soft cover. Condizione: Fine. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. 1 pages. Published in 1992. Rare Calvin Klein and Steven Klein collectible item. A fine copy of the massive CK Pull-Out Supplement. Originally intended as a free insertion in all copies of Vanity Fair Magazine. ALL were subsequently withdrawn because the models were deemed underage. Should NOT be confused with subsequent magazine insertions that were significantly toned down to avoid being banned: The Main Male Model's lower parts were cropped altogether. Size is 24 X 20 inches. Four back-to-back color portraits. Printed on thick coated stock paper in the United States to the highest standards. Without DJ, as issued. There is no ISBN. The Pull-Out Supplement is now rare. Presents "Calvin Klein Briefs Pullout Supplement For Vanity Fair Magazine". Four color portraits of very young male and female models wearing revealing Calvin Klein Jeans (and in the case of the main model, CK briefs). The controversy the Supplement aroused was enough for Vanity Fair Magazine to pull it out (as it were) on their own. People are used to Calvin Klein pushing the envelope when it comes to nudity and sex in advertising. So it was not enough for CK to do more of the same at the time. He may have pushed too far in 1992 with this Supplement. Since it was his intention after all, the models came across as "Teenage Lust"-underage (they were legally, adults) at a time when abstinence and celibacy had become the norm in the Age of AIDS. Still, it's the kind of inventive mass-media merchandising Calvin Klein pioneered and became known for, generating tremendous press coverage and consumer attention for himself and his eponymous brand, and revolutionizing the way the fashion industry does advertising. The ad also showcases the provocative and sexually suggestive look perfected by Steven Klein, the fashion and lifestyle photographer (no relation to Calvin), that is much copied by others. An absolute "must-have" collectible, not just memorabilia, item for Calvin Klein and Steven Klein collectors. This 24 X 20 Inch Pull-Out Supplement is a contemporary erotic photography classic. As far as we know, this is the only copy available online and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright. Please note: Should NOT be confused with subsequent magazine insertions that were significantly toned down to avoid being banned: The Main Male Model's lower parts were cropped altogether. A rare copy thus. 4 color plates. One of the greatest image-makers of the 20th century. A fine copy. (SEE ALSO OTHER CALVIN KLEIN AND BRUCE WEBER TITLES IN OUR CATALOG). no.

Soft cover. Condizione: As New. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. 100 pages. Published in 1991. Rare Bruce Weber, Calvin Klein, and Vanity Fair Magazine collectible item. A pristine copy of the complete set: Vanity Fair Magazine's "Jessica In Love" October 1991 Issue with the Calvin Klein Magazine Supplement/Insert that accompanied it. Limited Edition of 10000 copies. Inserted randomly and distributed to subscriber copies in the United States only. There is no ISBN. The complete set is now rare. Pictorial softcovers with titles on the cover and spine, as issued. Photographs by Bruce Weber. The Supplement/Insert has no text. Printed on pristine-white, thick coated stock paper in the United States to the highest standards. Unlike most books being published today, American magazines are still being printed in America; many of them are not only superior in quality, they will last in terms of production values. In publisher's original shrinkwrap. Without DJ, as issued. Presents the complete Calvin Klein and Bruce Weber Magazine Issue-cum-Magazine Supplement/Insert. Weber's single best portfolio for Calvin Klein. It's the kind of inventive, mass-media merchandising Calvin Klein pioneered and became known for, generating tremendous press and consumer attention for himself and his eponymous brand, influencing, and revolutionizing the way the fashion industry does advertising even in our Social Media Age. The CK advertising campaign "had a seismic effect on America's social and cultural scene. Weber's photographs are part of the phenomenon they document. His advertising campaigns have come to stand for the acceptance of this imagery by the cultural mainstream. For those who can recall a time before it became acceptable for men to regard their underwear as fashion statements, Weber's images must count among the most revolutionary tools yet devised in the history of consumer manipulation" (The New York Times Magazine). Sexy photographs of the world's supermodels such as Christie Turlington and Marcus Schenkenberg, beauties who are now iconic figures of fashion. Showcases another look perfected by the photographer and much copied by others: Racier and sexier in a cosmopolitan, "metrosexual" way (long before the latter term gained mass currency), in contrast to the trademark "All-American" look that is identified with the Bruce Weber of "Bear Pond". An absolute "must-have" title for Bruce Weber and Calvin Klein collectors. This Calvin Klein/Bruce Weber Magazine Issue-cum-Magazine Supplement/Insert is a contemporary erotic photography classic. As far as we know, this is the only complete set available online, is still in the publisher's original shrinkwrap, and is in especailly fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright. Please note: "Loose" copies of just the Insert available online have serious flaws yet command hundreds of dollars. Since this was, after all, an ephemeral magazine issue, 99.9% of remaining copies of the Supplement/Insert are opened, the shrinkwrap removed, separated from the Magazine Issue itself, in heavily used, soiled condition. For those who have everything else by BW, this is it. A rare copy thus. Lavishly illustrated with duotone plates. Bruce Weber's "O Rio de Janeiro", perhaps the sexiest photography book ever published, was selected as one of the "Seminal Photography Books of The 20th Century" in the "Book of 101 Books". One of the finest photographers of our time. A fine collectible set. (SEE ALSO OTHER BRUCE WEBER TITLES IN OUR CATALOG). no.
