Viktor Klingmüller, also known as Victor Klingmüller, (1870-1942) internist and dermatologist; studied medicine in Halle and Breslau from 1889 to 1894. In 1893, he obtained his doctorate in Halle, where he was an assistant from 1895 to 1897, and in 1902 he qualified as a professor in dermatology in Breslau (Zur Pathologie der Lepra maculoanästhetica). From 1897, he was an assistant at the Dermatological Clinic in Breslau and, from 1902, senior physician. In 1906, he became associate professor of skin and sexually transmitted diseases at the University of Kiel and, in 1919, full professor of dermatology at the Clinic and Polyclinic for Skin and Sexually Transmitted Diseases in Kiel. In 1925/26, he was dean of the Faculty of Medicine. From 1906 to 1922, he was director of the Dermatological Clinic in Kiel and from 1922 to 1935 administrative director of the Academic Sanatoriums in Kiel. He was particularly interested in leprosy. Starting in 1906, he compiled a collection of three-dimensional wax models (moulages) of around 455 skin diseases in Kiel.…
