Mit dem Einsatz von Intranets werden vor allem folgende Vorteile verbunden: Intranetanwendungen haben wesentlich höhere ROI-Werte als vergleichbare Technologieinvestitionen. niedrige Softwarekosten durch sehr geringe Lizenzkosten. Interaktivität durch stärkere Betonung der Kommunikation in den Anwendungen mit verbesserter Kommunikation und Innovation. dynamische Interaktion in Arbeitsgruppen und damit effiziente Zusammenarbeit im Teamwork.Sollen die Möglichkeiten der Intranet-Technologie voll ausgeschöpft werden, ist eine umfangreiche Planung der Installation und des Betriebs erforderlich. Ein Erfolgsfaktor ist die Auswahl der angemessenen Architekturen für die unterschiedlichen Einsatzgebiete im Konzern.In der vorliegenden Arbeit werden folgende Fragestellungen zur Einführung und zum Betrieb eines konzernweiten Intranet behandelt: Welches sind die Einsatzfelder von Intranetanwendungen im Konzern Welche Sicherheitsaspekte müssen bei der Installation und dem Betrieb beachtet werden Wo sind verschiedene Architekturen möglich und was sind deren Eigenschaften Welchen Einfluss hat die Form der Holding auf die Architekturen Gang der Untersuchung:Der Aufbau der Untersuchung lehnt sich an das mögliche Vorgehen einer Intraneteinführung an. Im zweiten Kapitel gilt es zunächst Definitionen und die Anwendungen des Intranets vorzustellen. Außerdem werden Sicherheitsaspekte und Architekturen einer konzernweiten Intranetstrategie dargestellt. Im folgenden Kapitel wird auf die Untersuchungsgegenstände eingegangen, die unterschiedliche Konzepte zulassen. Des weiteren wird die Einflussnahme der Holdingarten auf die Architekturen behandelt.
