Soft cover. Condizione: Good. 1st Edition. Paperback. In original tan printed wrappers, 35 pp., 2 black and white photographic plates, and very large folding color soil survey map of Marion County. The map, based on U. S. Geological Survey topographic coverage, shows cultural details (individual buildings, roads, railroads, etc.) in addition to soil types and distribution within the region, necessary for delineating important and desirable agricultural areas. Descriptions and characteristics of soil classifications shown on the map are provided in the report together with information about principal and lesser crops grown at the time of the survey. An early edition and possibly the first soil survey of Marion County. Later soil surveys provide more maps and finer details but lack the visual appeal, simplicity, and historical content of this earlier large color map. *** Condition: Complete as issued. Removed from bound volume with roughness and chipping to wrappers along the bound edge, loose or detaching pages, and stitch holes along the left margin not affecting the map. Aggiungi al carrelloCondizione: Good. Most items will be dispatched the same or the next working day. A copy that has been read but remains in clean condition. All of the pages are intact and the cover is intact and the spine may show signs of wear. The book may have minor markings which are not specifically mentioned. A good condition book and an original 1908 printing. An ex-library rebind with what may be the original publisher's hardcover boards incorporated with red quarter-leather. Heavy chipping and darkening to the board edges. The textblock has notable dust darkening to the outer edges and a little to the margins. Typical toning to the contents with deeper outer edges and lighter more uniform page centres, but overall the textblock is in stellar condition for it's age and has been well-preserved. Handling to the internal contents is mild and the textblock is sturdily bound and nicely squared. Print is unfaded and the contents are uncreased aside from a shallow horizontal line down the centre of the first half-dozen pages. Fold-outs are nicely kept. Very decent overall, with the brunt of the age and dust kept to the outer covers and edges. More information and photographs available on request.
