This was Dr. Kohler's first book, which established his reputation as an imminent radiologist. Alban Kohler is best known for the invention of grid therapy (sieve). He co-founded Deutsche Rontgengesellschaft in 1905, and served as its president. In his later work, Kohler was concerned with bringing together the two disciplines of radiology and surgery, and published a work on this theme. He also published on tuberculosis of the lungs as well as on radiologically recognizable diseases of the skeleton. He introduced technical modifications to achieve improved X-ray visualization of the heart.
