Spine and corners have wear to leather, corners worn through, front board nice and clean, rear board has staining. Binding is strong throughout. Internally, front paste down is covered with a glued down diagram of "The Eight Years of the War of the American Revolution". Decorative end papers. first blank has previous owner's name, dated 1969. Title page has a beautiful previous owner's name"Z. C. B. Livingston, Nov. 2, 1858". Title page and Preface page both have a blue arrow pointing out the academic association of Franklin and Marshall College. Otherwise the pages are nice and clean throughout, especially the 6 hand-colored 2-page maps on heavy stock at the rear. All-in-all a very nice, solid copy.
