Second edition, approx. fourteenth printing (per publisher's stated sequence upon copyright page) INSCRIBED, DATED, AND SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR. Collates as i-xxii, 1-344, [unpaged b/w plate section]. Hardcover: H 21.5cm x L 16.25cm. No dust jacket (i.e. lacking). Blue cloth rubbed; front board decorated with color pictorial paste-on which has small loss at its bottom right; some scuffing and bumping at spine ends and board corners; spine and front board lettering somewhat dulled but still easily legible. Slight foxing/toning to text block edges. Four-line ink inscription "Yours very truly | Ellsworth and Emery Kolb. |December 25 - 1946 | Grand Canyon, Arizona" on front free endpaper verso - however there is no change in the cursive handwriting between the brothers' respective names so there was only one signer rather than two (presumably Ellsworth signed for both). Occasional light foxing to interior leaves with several leaves having creased/nicked fore-edge corners. Binding has a few stress points at quires but all still reasonably firm.
