That over 100,000 Jews were saved in Poland, hidden by Polish families and Catholic convents and monasteries, is proof of great deeds of heroism by hundreds of thousands Poles. Over 3000 are known to have been executed for their actions on behalf of the Jews. This is also the tragic story of Polish Jewish relations after the Second World War as seen by someone who was a member of the post war parliament and a leader of the Polish Peasant Party, the largest party in opposition to the Communists. In 1947, facing imminent arrest, Korbonski and his wife Zofia fled to Sweden and then to the United States, where he has written a number of books, held various high level positions, including the chairman ship of the Assembly of Captive European Nations (ACEN), and where he continues to fight against the unfair and slanderous treatment of Poles as a nation of anti~Semites who stood by and did nothing to save the Jews.
