This copy has been signed by the author Bleiler, along with publisher Melvin Korshak and inscribed to Edward M. Clinton, Jr. (a noted fan and later author). This book is in Very Good condition and has a Very Good- dust jacket. The book covers have noticeable bumping to the spine ends and corners. There is one small ding to the spine of the book covers (could be a fingernail poke) that hasn't completely gone through the cloth. The text pages are generally clean, and bright. The dust jacket is complete, but has cracking to the spine and flap joints, and has some rubbing and wear, along with edge tears, etc. The white portions of the dust jacket have some generalized light toning. "Everett Franklin Bleiler (April 30, 1920 June 13, 2010) was an American editor, bibliographer, and scholar of science fiction, detective fiction, and fantasy literature. In the late 1940s and early 1950s, he co-edited the first "year's best" series of science fiction anthologies, and his Checklist of Fantastic Literature has been called "the foundation of modern SF bibliography". Among his other scholarly works are two Hugo Awardnominated volumes concerning early science fictionScience-Fiction: The Early Years and Science-Fiction: The Gernsback Yearsand the massive Guide to Supernatural Fiction.
