Aber, ob- gleich zu seinen Wirkungen auch diese gehört, daß er jeden Versuch seiner Beilegung vereitelt, weil kein Teil dahin zu bringen ist, einen Mangel auf seiner Seite und eine Realität auf der anderen einzugestehen, so ist es doch immer Gewinn genug, eine so wichtige Trennung bis zu ihrer letzten Quelle zu verfolgen und dadurch den eigentlichen Punkt des Streits wenigstens auf eine einfachere Formel zu bringen".
