Porcelain decorated with coats of arms was particularly popular. As one of the largest importers of Chinese porcelain during the 18th century, the Ducth left a special mark on the production of armorial porcelain. In particular in the 1730s and 1740s they had quite exceptional services made, decorated with rich heraldic images and other personalised pictures. The embodiment of Dutchness can be found in many of these fine armorial services, revealing the Ducth had their own special taste, which was quite often at odds with that of its neighbouring countries.
