Oluf H°st was a Danish painter born in 1884 in Svaneke on the island of Bornholm. One of his greatest influences was Cezanne who was ideal in his artistic matters, though H°st emphasized a great difference between their work due to a major difference in their surroundings. For this reason, H°st felt anchored in a Nordic tradition. ôThis exhibition presents some essential aspects of an artist whose activities spread over a wide field: So it is the nature romantic, the landscape artist, the minimalist, the colourist as well as the metaphysical H°st that come into play in this exhibition.ö This book also includes discussion of the landscapes in which he paints and the major themes of the exhibition., Danish / English, Year2002, Illust.
