Célèbre peintre chinois (1899-1983), calligraphe, il a renouvelé la peinture traditionnelle chinoise de fleurs et d'oiseaux en utilisant les techniques ancestrales ; son art est très proche de la calligraphie par le maniement du pinceau, la liberté du geste. Il fut le meilleur élève deQi Baishi. Il a enseigné la peinture à l'Académie centrale des arts de 1950 à sa mort. Chaque peinture porte le sceau rouge de l'artiste et une légende. Les oeuvres de Li Kuchan passent régulièrement dans les ventes internationales, surtout aux Etats-Unis. | [ENGLISH DESCRIPTION FOLLOWS] Album composed of 10 lithographs after ink and ink wash drawings in colors (mainly yellow and green) mounted on cardboard. Accordion binding covered in damask silk and embroidered with beige gilt Chinese motifs with blue, red, black and gold embroidery. Title label with the painter's seal. Brown paper. Gold powder edges. Magnificent copy. Famous Chinese painter (1899-1983), calligrapher, he renewed traditional Chinese painting of flowers and birds using ancestral techniques; his art is very close to calligraphy through his brushwork and freedom of gesture. He was the best student of Qi Baishi. He taught painting at the Central Academy of Arts from 1950 until his death. Each painting bears the artist's red seal and a caption. Works by Li Kuchan regularly appear in international sales, especially in the United States. *.
