Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the relative safety of brass, copper, and steel gauzes used in miners' flame safety lamps, offering a thorough investigation of their effectiveness in preventing explosions in gaseous mines. The author provides a comprehensive analysis of numerous tests conducted to assess the performance of these materials under various conditions, including the influence of factors such as the number of gauzes, the type of lamp, and the proportion of gas in the air mixture. The book draws upon previous research, particularly the significant work of Watteyne and Stassart, to contextualize the findings and contribute to the ongoing discussion on flame lamp safety. By examining the physical properties, oxidation, and behavior of different gauze materials, the author sheds light on their protective qualities and provides valuable insights for improving the safety of miners working in hazardous environments. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
