Lo studio approfondito delle fonti archivistiche interrogate dall'autore lascia intravedere uno strato ancora non scandagliato dell'operosità del protagonista di questo volume, che si traduce in occasioni realizzative considerevoli: palazzi ministeriali, Città di fondazione, interi quartieri popolari e alcuni dei negozi più alla moda della città di Bari. Ma ciò che rende ancor più interessante la parabola professionale dell'architetto Marino Lopopolo è il fatto che, questi suoi progetti, sono radicati nella temperie futurista e in un complesso di idee estremamente chiaro e conseguente che vanno dal razionalismo di Giuseppe Pagano, fino al futurismo di Tommaso Marinetti, Antonio Sant'Elia e Virgilio Marchi. Per lui, infatti, l'architettura è quasi una cosmogonia che apre le porte ad aspirazioni utopistiche di rinnovamento sociale e ad attese di una caparbia, contorta ma ben netta linea di sviluppo della figura dell'architetto moderno che arriva fino a noi.
