F. & B. plate number 0349. A Negro Parade was written during the summer of 1931 and was first performed on February 7, 1935, by the National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Hans Kindler. The scene for the parade is described in the front matter, reading, in part, ''With an admission of racial subservience they retrace their steps, singing a converted hymn, 'Let Jesus Lead You, and White Folks Feed You,' and whistling characteristic labor tunes.'' Also performed by Stokowski with the NBC Orchestra. Ads on back for works by Deems Taylor, William Grant Still, H. Waldo Warner.
