Hardcover. Condizione: Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Near Fine. Illus. By Heather Preston (illustratore). First Edition. Gift quality hardcover in beige paper covered boards quarter-bound with green cloth over the spine. No names, tears or soil in the tight, bright 115pp text. Unclipped dust jacket shows a tiny rubs at tips and spine ends, but displays well in new mylar. 'A golden-veined leaf of scarlet, enclosed in a letter, is said by the writer of the note to be "part of a day's catch at French eddy." And the letter asks if one ever has been to French eddy, where the leaf was picked. Yes, often, but not often enough. It is said that we tire soon of all things that grow commonplace to us, and in tiring grow indifferent to their virtues, as children weary of playthings to which they are long accustomed. But it is not to be imagined that one would tire soon, or at all, of that broad and secret pool, with the current racing beyond it, which lies cupped in the hand of the hills. Of itself that eddy is sovereign for weariness. And part of the catch at French eddy always is more than trout'.
