Soft cover. Condizione: Very Good. 1st Edition. Presumed First Editions (NAP). This is an interesting offering. In 1949, five years after these three volumes were published, this work by Solomon Landman and Benjamin Efron was published by Henry Holt & Co. under the title Story Without End: An Informal History of the Jewish People. So this earlier title was changed. You will probably be able to see the subtitles in the photograph of the front covers, but if not they are as follows: Volume I: The Hebrews Become Jews; Volume II: The Jews Keep The Faith Alive; and Volume III: The Jews and the Modern World. Once listed, these will be the only copies of these original volumes for sale on the Internet. They were published by Temple Isaiah of Kew Gardens, Long Island, the temple that Rabbi Solomon Landman founded. The condition of the volumes is significantly better than what one would expect given that nearly eighty years have passed since they were published. The covers of Volumes I & II are very clean. Volume III has the two or three spots on its front cover. It also has a 1/4" tear off its rear covers middle edge. The color of the covers of Volume III or actually yellow, the phone camera is misrepresenting the color. In the photograph of the spines, you can see that there is a small loss at the top and bottom edges of Volume II and III. Importantly, all three volumes are very solidly bound. The pages are nicely tight throughout and the covers are nicely tight as well. The interiors of each volume are in excellent condition. The pages are very clean. I'm not seeing any soiling. And I'm not seeing any conspicuous creasing, no turned-down corners or placeholder creases. There are no markings in any of the volumes. No attachments of any kind. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. The print is on only one side of each page. Volume I runs 125 pages. Volume II 145 pages. And Volume III 109 pages. The only imperfection I would bring to your attention are instances where a letter or a few letters of the type did not print darkly and may not be legible. However, I didn't come upon any instances where I was unable to identify a word. I guess that's just the kind of thing that you're going to run into with a truly original copy.
