Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. This SCARCE 111 pp. book has a 6 pp. roster at the rear of all the men in the FIRST GAS REGIMENT, with their ranks & home cities. They fought in France in World War I, defeating the enemy with Poison Gas. Photos & Maps throughout. Other than general soiling that most 107 year old books have, the book is VERY GOOD, albeit with edge stains on facing pages 14 & 15. -- THE PHOTO IS A STOCK IMAGE -- NOT A PHOTO OF THIS COPY !!

Hardcover. First Edition; First Printing. Blue cloth over boards with gilt title and design on front. Some wear at spine ends and corners but overall a very attractive copy. VG to VG+. This WWI story of the US Army Chemical Warfare Service was published by two soldiers who were part of that service. All illustrations are present including the foldout, panoramic regimental photo of ''Company E, First Gas Regiment, February 6, 1919.'' Map has a short tear on one fold. Nice copy of an important book on a little-discussed US Service division. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 111 pages.
