Este sionismo crítico ha sido muy bien acogido por cierta izquierda europea, que ve en él una reflexión que puede compartir. Este encantamiento mutuo tiene limitaciones, precisamente por su falta de coherencia histórica, que aboca a actitudes hipócritas, en las que late un sustrato colonialista. Yitzhak Laor, residente en Tel Aviv, poeta y periodista durante años de Haaretz, se enfrenta a ellas en este texto, con decisión y un punto de audacia, a través de un análisis de la obra, tan aclamada en Occidente, de Amos Oz, David Grossman y Abraham Yehoshua.
