They are at least reading copies, complete and in reasonable condition, but usually secondhand; frequently they are superior examples. 246p. hardcover in heavily worn dustjacket, 20 pages of illustrations. African American co-editor (Sullivan). A decent reading copy. Testimonials by captured soldiers who had decided to remain in China after the Korean War. Includes two contributions by African American soldiers, "This Happens to Negroes" and "Pages from My Life," critical of the capitalist / racist American system. Also Chicano and Puerto Rican accounts totaling 24 pages or so; see especially p.208, one guy asserts Nov 18 1950 his POW camp was strafed and bombed by American fighter planes, these having been sent (he feels) to assure that Brits and Yanks were being killed in the camps as has been promoted at home.
