Hardcover. Condizione: Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: No Dust Jacket. Illustrated by Gooch, Thelma (illustratore). Early Reprint. 216 pp., green cloth boards with paste-on illustration by Thelma Gooch. This copy was published between 1927 and 1931 (c. 1913) utilizing Grosset & Dunlap Format #5 as described by James D. Keeline (green cloth cover stock with a coarse weave, blank endpapers, frontispiece plus 3 internals tipped in on glossy stock). Boards show rubbing and edgewear, with corners chipped and webbing exposed at spine bottom. A few pages have smudges, but text is basically light and clean. The Bobbsey twins are coming home on the train from their summer vacation when they are stopped by a circus train wreck on the tracks ahead. In the confusion a special silver cup and their cat Snoop are lost, then shortly after they return home, someone sets a fire and their boathouse burns down. What a prelude to the start of school and the adventures that follow! Age Level: Grades 2-6; 6¾" - 7¾" Tall.
