Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Near Fine. 1st Edition. The Academy of American Poets' 1977 Walt Whitman Award was won by author Lauren Shakely in an "open competition among American poets who had not yet published their first book of poetry" (per dust jacket.) This is her first book, published the following year. It has "First Edition" and full printing line with "2" on the copyright page, so it's a 1st printing. (Publisher would remove "First Edition" for the 2nd printing.) The book is in near fine condition, marred only by a trace of sun toning along its top edge. Binding is tight and square, with no reading crease in the spine. Covers are sharp cornered, unmarked and unworn, with bright silver titles. The unclipped dust jacket is also in near fine condition: whole, unfaded and unmarked, with traces of edge wear. As with all Space Age Book purchases, I will ship this book in a moisture proof zip-loc bag, padded in bubble wrap, inside a sturdy box to assure it reaches its proud new owner in the same condition as my description.
Personally inscribed by the author to the previous owner. A name, date and location are written on the first page. The dust jacket has light edge wear and a very small tear. The pages are clean and unmarked.
