A couple sit or stand beneath a tree in the distance admiring the view. Finely delineated & shaded, grey black ink, bordered with brown ink line. Below each view, the name is inscribed in brown ink - 'Belfort. haut Rhin' (drawing, 83 x 139 mm) & 'Lauterbourg. Bas Rhin' (drawing, 83 x 139 mm). Possibly from a sketch book, each whole leaf 135 x 185 mm. Drawings mounted within brown cloth, the view inset within gold frame. Prominent are hilltop fortifications, regularly planted rows of trees, neatly furrowed crops, churches & generally large houses.
