Printed by EG Pearson at the Times Press, Bombay, and published by HT Beaver, Bombay, for the Army YMCA of India. 27pp. About very good, tanned with corner creasing. Economically produced using cheap paper, and very rare, with 4 locations traced on Worldcat and Jisc (BL, NYU Abu Dhabi, New York University, AECID). This was prepared for members of the Mesopotamian Expeditionary Force "as a reliable and useful handbook to the city" during the first year of occupation. The principal author was the Revd Dr EE Lavv, who represented the Church Missionary Society in Baghdad and at that time in charge of Armenian Relief efforts. Prof John Clark Archer of Yale University, US Educational Secretary for the YMCA in Mesopotamia, contributed the historical sketch. Other sections include a description of the people, trade, and places of interest, 5 tours (East Baghdad, Kadhimain, Sheikh Omar's Tomb etc, Muadham, West Baghdad), and Notes on Mohammedanism or the Religion of Islam.
