Wille à Paris nous a donné sur cette estampe, dans une de ses lettres "L'estampe de Lazarille de Tormes devroit être difficile à trouver. Elle n'a pas été destinée pour l'ornement d'un livre ; un certain imprimeur de planches, que nous avons connu autrefois, la fit graver vers les années 1737 ou 1738. Cet homme étant mort depuis environ une trentaine d'années, personne ne sait ce que la planche est devenue. Je me suis adressé à tous les marchands, mais la plupart ignorent jusques à son existence". Cette estampe, qui est réellement très-rare, & sans année, est h. de 11 p. 4 L & l. de 7 p. 10 l.
