The artist's gloomy experiences among mucilaginous monks in Athos, and burst water-pipes at Walton-on-Thames are recounted with the same strange blend of exhiliration and sensitivity that he brought to the conversation between Mr. Daddy-long-leds and Mr. Floppy Fly, or the adventures of aged Uncle Arly - clipfombious to the last degree.
