Bertrand Russell, 3rd Earl Russell, OM, FRS (1872 - 1970) was a British mathematician, logician, philosopher, author, Nobel Prize Winner and public intellectual. He had influence on mathematics, logic, set theory, various areas of analytic philosophy. As a prominent public figure and pacifist, he also lobbied against Communism, Stalinism, and nuclear proliferation.
