Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -The book provides data on inventory of plant diversity, flora and vegetation of Hin Nam No National Protected Area (Lao PDR). Obtained data are based on studies of local floras, both in sandstone and karstic limestone. The monograph includes - brief characteristic of physical geography, climate and geomorphology, description of vegetation, vegetation map and comparative characteristic of the flora, as well as the annotated list of all observed plant species; the list of all species reported for the area and illustrations for all studied species. Presented data are documented by 1100 collected herbarium specimens available on-line. Being combined with previously available data studied flora includes 175 families, 755 genera and 1519 species of vascular plants. Twenty species and one variety are described and illustrated as a new for science. The studied region is identified as particularly rich both in endemic, and in widespread plants. The high diversity of vegetation and habitats effectively support high level of natural plant diversity of aboriginal flora, which can contain at least 2500-3000 native species. 440 pp. Englisch.

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Scientifically established strategy of nature protection is one of the most important directions of modern science. Phong Nha Ke Bang, largest national park of Vietnam plays world-important role in conservation of unique nature and global genetic diversity. Investigation of forests allied to western border of the national park funded by Kreditnstalt fur Wiederaufbau German Development Bank was realized during summer 2011. Current monograph presents main results of these studies including description of vegetation and data on inventory of local floras in area proposed for extension of the protected territory. Obtained data presented in this monograph indicate straight advisability of expansion of national park on territories with intact primary forests having full spectrum of habitats and living forms of indigenous nature of Indochinese Peninsula. This area also will play role of significant biodiversity flow corridor between protected areas of Vietnam and Laos. If protected areas of both countries were to be connected by explored and studied area, the combined reserve would be the largest surviving karst primary forest in south-east Asia. 232 pp. Englisch.

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -The book provides data on plant diversity, flora, and vegetation of the Bat Dai Son Mountains and allied territories (Quan Ba District, Ha Giang Province, N Vietnam). Obtained data are based on fieldwork and laboratory studies of herbaria collected in 1995-2019 and available presently online. The monograph includes essays on the history of investigation of Bat Dai Son Nature Reserve, physical, hydrologic, climate, geology and geomorphology of the region, basic data on plant diversity and vegetation, descriptions of main plant communities and the flora, the plant key groups, and analysis of the threat for the plant diversity in the region. The documented and illustrated annotated list of studied plants includes 1146 species belonging to 521 genera and 162 families. Among studied plants, 1 family, 11 genera, and 169 taxa are expectedly new for the flora of Vietnam, 27 taxa are new for science. The total number of plants in studied flora may be estimated as 3500-4000 aboriginal and invasive species. This is a significant center of local regional plant diversity and the refuge of many strictly endemic forms of life. 568 pp. Englisch.
