Leopold Hirsch und Hans (Johann Wilhelm) Schriever (1898-1979) berichten "aus der Klinik für Ohren-, Nasen- und Kehlkopfkranke und aus dem physiologischen Institut der Universität Würzburg". "Unter den mit Schleimhaut überzogenen, druckempfindlichen Flachen zeichnet sich die Zungenspitze durch besonders hohe Empfindlichkeit aus; ihre Schwelle ist mit 0,3 g/mm die niedrigste des ganzen Körpers. F. Kiesow [(a), 1. c. S. 574] hat dort sogar ein Reizhaar von 0,05 g/mm noch überschwellig gefunden. Neuere Untersuchungen von Hirsch und Schriever haben in-dessen gezeigt, daß die Schwelle nicht tiefer liegt als 0,3 g/mm, vorausgesetzt, daB man als Reiz nur das Aufstoßen des Haares gelten läßt. Beim Abheben können weit schwächere Haare wirksam werden, da sie an dem zähen, die Zungenoberflache überziehenden Schleim haften bleiben und sozusagen erst losgerissen werden müssen. Es versteht sich, daß unter solchen Bedingungen der Stauchungswiderstand des Haares seine Bedeutung als Maß des Reizes verliert. Unter Anwendung schwellenmäßiger Reize hat H.
